Enterprise Architect is a Windows based application and requires a Windows based version control client for integration.
Enterprise Architect is independent of the version control server component and the platform on which that runs.

Subversion |
Subversion is free, open source software. Subversion server components are available to run on a wide range of different hardware and operating systems; Enterprise Architect is not affected by your choice of server components. Enterprise Architect requires Subversion's Windows-based command line client for integration. There are numerous graphical user interface clients available for use with Subversion, such as TortoiseSVN; this type of client cannot be used for integration with Enterprise Architect, but they can be very useful in preparing a working Subversion environment for use by Enterprise Architect. CVS |
CVS is free, open source software. Enterprise Architect is able to use either the command line client for TFS, or the MS TFS-SCC client; your choice of client affects how you specify your Version Control Configuration. MS TFS-SCC clients are available for download from Microsoft's web pages:

SCC compatible products |
Any version control product that provides a client that complies with the Microsoft Common Source Code Control standard, version 1.1 or higher, can be integrated with Enterprise Architect. The following products are SCC-compatible and are known to successfully integrate with Enterprise Architect:
Products that do not appear in the list should still integrate successfully with Enterprise Architect, if there is a client available for that product that complies with the MS SCC API specification.
