Oracle ODBC Driver
This topic explains how to set up an Oracle ODBC driver.
Prerequisites:
You must first have installed:
• | Microsoft MDAC components |
• | Oracle DBMS and repository |
Use to
• | Set up the Oracle ODBC driver so that you can connect to your Oracle repository in Enterprise Architect, in preference to using an OLE DB connection |

Select the WindowsTM Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Data Sources (ODBC) option. The ODBC Data Source Administrator window displays.

Click on the Add button. The Create New Data Source dialog displays, enabling you to add a new DSN.

Select Oracle in OraDB11g_home1 from the list (or similar, depending on the ODBC installation).

Click on the Finish button. The Oracle ODBC Driver Configuration dialog displays.

Enter the following configuration details:

Click on the Test Connection button and enter the Oracle user password to confirm that the details are correct.

If the test succeeds, click on the OK button to complete the configuration. If the test does not succeed, review your settings.

Your Oracle connection is now available to use in Enterprise Architect.
Notes
• | Enterprise Architect requires 32-bit ODBC drivers to connect to a repository through ODBC; to set up the ODBC configuration on 64-bit clients, run the 32-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator from C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe |
