Legend Key
A Legend on a diagram provides a key to the element and connector color/line thickness conventions used on that diagram. Each element or connector convention is separately defined under its own name, usually the name of the grouping represented by the color. You can set up or edit the key on the Legend dialog. Element conventions are defined on a Fill tab, and connector conventions are defined separately on a Line tab. If you want to present the element or connector key items in a specific sequence, you can adjust the order in which the items are listed on the Legend element.

Name |
Type or edit the name of the element or connector grouping, such as Production System, or Override Control System.

Fill Color |
Click on the down arrow and select the standard color used as the fill or background color of the elements in the grouping. If you have used a non-standard color on the diagram, it should be available from the bottom of the pallet. If not, click on the Other button and either select from the larger pallet or define it as a custom color.

Line Color |
Click on the down arrow and select the standard color used for the connector line or element border in the grouping. If you have used a non-standard color on the diagram, it should be available from the bottom of the pallet. If not, click on the Other button and either select from the larger pallet or define it as a custom color.

Style Options |
Click on this button to define or edit the appearance of the Legend element itself.

Fill |
This tab lists the key definitions created for the elements in the diagram.

Line |
This tab lists the key definitions created for the connectors in the diagram.

Hand (Up) |
If more than one key definition is listed in the current tab, click on this button to move the selected item closer to the top of the list.

Hand (Down) |
If more than one key definition is listed in the current tab, click on this button to move the selected item closer to the bottom of the list.

||||
New |
Click on this button to clear the fields in preparation for defining a new key definition in the Legend.

||||
Save |
Click on this button to save any changes you have made to a key definition.
|
|
||||
Delete |
Click on this button to delete the key definition you have selected in the current list.
|

||||
OK |
Click on this button to save any current changes and close the dialog.

|
||||
Cancel |
Click on this button to abort any unsaved changes you have made, and close the dialog.
